Mission Statement

The mission of the Muskingum Perry Morgan Community Reentry Coalition is to build a stronger, safer, and more productive community and reduce recidivism by improving the quality of life of our returning citizens through a collaborative effort of case management, services, and resources.

Vision Statement

The Muskingum Perry Morgan Community Reentry Coalition aspires to become the lead collaborative of providers for returning citizens to ensure they receive the needed resources and services to overcome barriers, rebuild lives, and avoid the complications that lead to incarceration.

Future Vision

The Muskingum Perry Morgan Community Reentry Coalition will strive to grow and develop in the following areas over the next three years:

• Increase public awareness and involvement of reentry efforts in all sectors of the community.
• Align practices as needed and create partnerships in support of improving services for ex-offenders.
• Form committees as needed to address specific needs of the community.
• Enhance our networking and strategies with adjacent counties.
• Advocate for new recovery and transitional housing options.
• Identify and advocate for new housing resources to reduce the risk of housing insecurity.
• Seek federal, state, and local grant funding to enhance services to our returning citizens.
• Create a network of mentors to assist ex-offenders with a successful transition back to the community.
• Increase support services for family members of ex-offenders.
• Develop education and outreach activities to continue building a reentry and recovery friendly community.
• Expand faith- and spiritual-based initiatives in the community.
• Work with local transportation services and advocate for expansion of transportation options.
• Encourage partnerships between coalition resources that meet the needs of our clients.
• Develop job readiness programs to better prepare clients for their reentry to the workforce.
• Enhance employer awareness of the benefits of hiring ex-offenders.
• Provide resources to local employers to better assist ex-offender employees with emerging concerns and retention.

Summary

The Muskingum Perry Morgan Community Reentry Coalition will utilize all the resources available in the region and advocate to increase and enhance services to allow our returning citizens to not only survive, but thrive, as they rebuild their lives. Reentry has reached a new level of success over the past few years through a collaborative effort of all community partners and their resilient desire to help their neighbor. The Coalition will continue to reach out to new members, seek new opportunities to augment our resources, foster new and creative ideas and programs that enrich our community, and help our returning citizens with their successful reintegration home.
